On September 23, HRS Hydrogeologist Matt Seitz will be sharing some “Lessons Learned” during years of research at a 10-acre surface recharge basin completed in the South Platte Alluvial aquifer. Matt will cover factors that impact the recharge rate and the results of several experiments HRS Water conducted to test approaches to increase recharge efficiency and reduce operations and maintenance cost. The two-day conference is organized by the National Groundwater Association (NGWA) and includes many interesting talks on groundwater recharge and a keynote presentation by Colorado’s State Engineer, Jason Ullmann, PE. Conference details are available here.
