In September, Fern Beetle-Moorcroft traveled to Cape Town, South Africa to present HRS’ “PFAS Transport Toolkit” as part the 50th Annual IAH Congress.
The presentation documents a series of tools HRS has developed and implemented, which focus on collecting the hydrogeologic data necessary to understand and better predict PFAS transport in an alluvial aquifer.
This toolkit includes:
- Implementing a sentinel well network to measure PFAS concentrations
- Collecting data to empirically derive input parameters for groundwater fate and transport models
- Choosing and implementing data collection techniques to avoid cross contamination
