HRS Water has a long history of supporting groundwater development projects in areas without access to a safe, adequate water supply. In January 2023, HRS Hydrogeologist Matt Seitz travelled to a community of 200 in rural Nicaragua to observe a water project that came online in February 2022 with technical and financial support from HRS. Matt traveled with a team of six student volunteers from the Colorado School of Mines Engineers Without Borders (EWB) club (that also helped fund and help design the project).

The project, which includes a 250’ deep well, tank, chlorinator, and complex distribution system is making a positive impact in the community and meeting the community members in person at last was fantastic. Learn more about this project.
