Hydrologist Fern Beetle-Moorcroft finished her Masters in Hydrology at the Colorado School of Mines in August 2020. Her research focused on exploring geologic controls along an intermittent reach of the Alamosa River in the San Luis Valley. Research methods involved combination of field geologic data, drone magnetometer data (shown below) and modeling (MODFLOW).
The publication is titled “Exploring conceptual models of infiltration and groundwater recharge on an intermittent river: The role of geologic controls” and can be downloaded from Science Direct.
